1. Introduction

Welcome to LedgerSpace. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our personal finance application. By using LedgerSpace, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account information: name, email address, and password (or Google account details if you sign in with Google)
Financial data: expenses, income, budgets, savings goals, investments, and debt records
Bill and payment information you manually enter
Split bill records and the names you add to them
Charity records: Zakat and Sadaqah donations you choose to log
Zakat calculator data: the asset and liability figures you enter to calculate Zakat
Profile photo (optional, via Google Sign-In)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

LedgerSpace is designed to be privacy-respecting. We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. The app does not track your activity across other apps or websites, and it contains no advertising.

The only automatic processing occurs through Firebase Authentication, which records standard sign-in information (such as your email and authentication timestamps) solely to keep your account secure.

2.3 Third-Party Services

LedgerSpace uses the following third-party services, provided by Google, that may process information to operate the app:

Firebase Authentication — for secure sign-in and account management
Cloud Firestore — as our backend database, to securely store and sync your financial data
Firebase Hosting — to host the web version of the app and the account-deletion page
Google Sign-In — for optional Google-based authentication

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the LedgerSpace app
Sync your financial data securely across your sessions and devices
Generate financial summaries, reports, and insights, including PDF reports you choose to export
Calculate Zakat based on the figures you provide
Send bill reminders and budget alerts (delivered on your device)
Diagnose technical problems and fix bugs

4. Data Storage & Security

Your financial data is stored securely on Google Firebase infrastructure (Cloud Firestore). We implement industry-standard security measures, including:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
Firebase Authentication for secure access control
Per-user data isolation: your data is stored under your own account and is only accessible to you

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your financial data with advertisers. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

With our service provider (Google Firebase) solely to operate and secure the app
If required by law, or to protect our legal rights
With your explicit consent

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app's Settings screen, or via our account-deletion page
Export your financial data using the app's export features
Contact us with any privacy questions or requests

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly within the app via the Settings screen. You may also request deletion through our web page at:

When you delete your account, your personal data and financial records associated with that account are permanently removed from our systems.

8. Children's Privacy

LedgerSpace is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
